Mon Andrews Cup

Congratulations to Colmcilles on winning the Mon Andrews Cup in The Strand Bar. The Swords men, retained the cup that they won last year, by beating The White Hart Lounge in the final. Cilles were victors by a scoreline of 4-1.

In the semi final, Cilles saw off the challenge of their league title rivals, Walshes, while The White Hart Lounge cut short the hopes of The Cock Tavern.

Change of dates for cup and 3asides

There has been a change of dates for the Mon Andrews Cup and 3 aside Competition. The Cup will now take place on Sat 20th March in the back lounge of The Strand. The draw that was done a few weeks ago will still stand.

Here’s the draw for the first round of action:

White Hart Lounge vs The Strand Bar
The Gladstone vs The Cock Tavern
White Hart Bar vs The Top Shop
The Cricket B vs Walshes B
Colmcilles A vs Murrays
St. Maurs Bye

As per usual in the cup, if the game is 3-3, the winners are decided after 1 leg of 1001.
The game is over if it goes 4-0.
There will be an open draw after the 1st round.
Games will take place on the next available board.
If your not present when your name is called 3 times, you will forfeit the game. You have been warned…3strikes and your out!! No Exceptions
Most importantly, ALL PINTS ONLY €3.50

The Singles will still be held in Colmcilles on Saturday April 24th.

The other change sees the 3 asides moved to Saturday May 8th in Rush Cricket Club. As usual, teams can only be made up of players from the same team.

Sorry for not updating last week but here we go again….

There’s not much between the Cock Tavern and The Strand Bar in the league table and there was nothing between them on Friday night in Gormanston. The 3rd and 4th place teams finished 3-3.

Walshes will be delighted to come out on top by the narrowest of margins against the White Hart Lounge. There were great darts on show from both teams, with Vinny McGuire impressing for the home side, while Butzy Wade was best for Walshes. A draw probably would have been the fairest result but Sean Wade had different ideas, holding his nerve to clinch the 4-2 victory.

Colmcilles remain at the summit of the table after their win against The Gladstone. Cilles were at their ruthless best and came away with the 3points after a 5-1 scoreline.

At the other end of the table, The Cricket Club held off St. Maurs 4-2 to get the victory.

Murrays have moved up 1 place to 5th after winning their local derby match, 5-1, against the Man O’ War.

In the final match, The Top Shop remain rooted to the bottom of the table after losing 4-2 at home to The White Hart Lounge. This sees the Balbriggan men move up 1 place and are now just 3 points behind the Lounge team.

I hope to have the 180s section back up and running in the next few days. I will only be posting 180s and highest finishes from the scorecards that we receive. Please get your reps to bring any outstanding scorecards to the Mon Andrews Cup in The Strand Bar on Sat 20th March.

The Mon Andrews Cup will take place at 1.30pm this Saturday, 20th Feb, in The Strand Bar in Rush. With 15 teams competing, its vitally important that everyone gets there on time so that the games can keep rolling. There will be 5 boards in play to help speed up matters.
